Where are you in the process?

Medicare decisions look different for everyone.

Whether you are approaching Medicare for the first time or reviewing your current coverage, we help you understand your next step.

01

Turning 65

Learn when to enroll, what Original Medicare includes and which additional coverage options may deserve consideration.

02

Retiring or Losing Coverage

Understand how Medicare may coordinate with employer coverage and what to consider when your current insurance ends.

03

Reviewing Your Current Plan

Revisit your doctors, prescriptions, benefits, premiums and out-of-pocket costs when you are eligible to make changes.

Medicare at a glance

Understand the main pieces of Medicare.

The letters can feel complicated at first. Here is a simpler overview of what each part generally covers.

A

Part A

Hospital Insurance

Helps cover qualifying inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care and certain home health services.

B

Part B

Medical Insurance

Helps cover certain physician services, outpatient care, preventive services and durable medical equipment.

C

Part C

Medicare Advantage

Medicare-approved private plans that provide Part A and Part B benefits and frequently include prescription drug coverage.

D

Part D

Prescription Drug Coverage

Medicare-approved private coverage designed to help pay for eligible brand-name and generic prescription medications.

Two common coverage paths

Compare more than the monthly premium.

Your doctors, prescriptions, healthcare needs, travel preferences, networks and out-of-pocket exposure can all affect your decision.

Coverage path one

Original Medicare

Part A and Part B administered by the federal government, with optional additional coverage purchased separately.

  • Part A hospital coverage
  • Part B medical coverage
  • Optional standalone Part D plan
  • Optional Medicare Supplement insurance
  • Broad provider access where Medicare is accepted
Coverage path two

Medicare Advantage

Medicare-approved private plans that provide Part A and Part B benefits through the plan.

  • Part A and Part B benefits through one plan
  • Many plans include Part D coverage
  • Plans may use provider networks
  • Some plans include additional benefits
  • Costs and availability vary by location
There is no single plan type that is right for everyone. Available options, premiums, benefits, networks and costs vary by location and individual circumstances.

Medicare Advantage is an alternative way to receive Medicare Part A and Part B benefits through a Medicare-approved private plan. Medicare Supplement insurance, also called Medigap, works alongside Original Medicare to help with certain out-of-pocket costs.
Original Medicare generally does not include comprehensive outpatient prescription drug coverage. A standalone Part D plan may be purchased separately, while many Medicare Advantage plans include prescription drug coverage.
Provider access depends on the coverage option and individual plan. We can help you review provider participation and network information before you enroll.
No. Ins Made Easy offers no-cost insurance consultations so you can ask questions and review available options without a consultation fee.
Private plan premiums, benefits, provider networks, drug formularies and cost-sharing can change. Reviewing your plan and current needs can help determine whether your coverage remains suitable.
